Hired a minivan to move our stuff into the new apartment. $15 Cdn an hour for 2 and a half hours. The driver helped load the van but I did all the work...30 degrees and muggy, at least is wasn't raining!

Here are pics without the clutter!

View up Hollywood Rd. from the living room window.

The place is empty now. All of our boxes and stuff fit into the small second bedroom.
Time to buy furniture and think about paint and stuff.
Too bad we are in Vancouver for the month?

Kitchen and terrace area.
Next time in HKG I have an extra day off, so hopefully I can buy some basic stuff to live. Like food, internet (monitor or TV), and a bed.

fun and games on our vancouver temp base

Our biggest clothing swap yet!! It was a monster with lots of "fresh meat" AKA rookies to keep it interesting.

Sheila couldn't make it but she made up for it by donating the clothes to a refugee camp in Africa so something really good came of our old clothing.

We had a weekday BBQ in my Grandma's backyard.

Behold my new short haircut!! Apparently my hairdresser thinks my shoulders are 3 inches higher than I do! But as everyone tells me...."It'll grow back"

Notice the table Suds made....an old door placed atop an empty TV box. Necessity is the mother of invention :)

After dinner a quick volleyball game started up. It was dangerous because a ball hit into the apple tree could cause a apple fall on your head

On Wednesday Suds and I headed to Seattle to watch Justin Morneau (a good Canadian kid) and the Twins beat the Mariners

Uncle Larry was there too!

Safeco field was packed!!

Suds and I went to the Keg to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary with gift certificates from Hilary and Whitney. Thanks guys! It was delic!

Housewife Tip of the Day

Step by step how to make S'mores

Step 1:
Buy supplies.
Graham Crackers
Aluminum Foil
Marshmallows
Milk Chocolate

Step 2:
Assemble

In between 2 graham crackers place some chocolate and a marshmallow. I find it works best if you squish the marshmallow some first.

Step 3:

Wrap tightly in the foil but do not break the cracker!

Step 4:

Make a big fire. After it burns for awhile make a little hot coal pit for your S'mores.

Do not put them directly on the coals for too long. This will burn the crackers. Flip them several times. They are ready when with gentle pressure on the top you can feel the insides all melting and oozey.

Step 5:
Let cool for a few minutes, open and enjoy!!

San Francisco

On Wednesday I flew to San Francisco to meet with Suds. It was a nice clear day leaving Vancouver.

Gorgeous snowy mountain tops!

Here I am landing in San Fran

Suds' hotel is right downtown in the heart of the shopping! Unfortunately it was much colder than I thought. Everyone was bundled up in coats and scarves!

We bought some tickets from a scalper for the Giants game. we wanted to be there if Bonds hit a home run. We had a pre-game drink across from the stadium at Momo's

The stadium is only a few years old and really nice!
Sadly for us Baroid Bonds had taken the night off.

Look at the prices for drinks in the stadium!
I was so thirsty but I woulda rather died of thirst than pay $4.50 for a small bottle of water!

The next day we went down to Fisherman's Wharf for some lunch and window shopping.

I had a great bowl of clam chowder in a bread bowl while we looked at the seals. Sadly one of the seals had a huge open wound gash in his chest. We had to look away while we ate :)

These kayakers are in the water in case a ball gets hit out of the park into the bay. Some have shirts that read "Bonds Navy". Apparently the ball that gets hit out of the park to break the record will be worth big bucks.

Here's the man, the legend, Mr Bonds

We bought some cheap tickets off another scalper and caught an afternoon game the next day as well.

He didn't do much but get hit out a lot, catch a ball in the field and then hit a double....only to call in a runner to finish off the inning and walk off the field and out of the game.

Christina Lake part 2

On Friday Cindy and family showed up in the RV.

Bocce ball in the front yard

Another feast including my Caesar Salad that was so garlicky it could have killed a vampire.

One of the Walnuts stopped by with his adorable twins. This guy was drawn to Ben Sr.

Saturday we spent at the beach.

Tubing with Uncle Suds

Uncle Larry the muscle man!

Saturday night and it was the Walnuts (from Grand Forks) vs. the Nutcrackers (the Sutherland's) in a slo pitch game

Ben Jr running for first before his game ending injury. He threw a ball from left field to the infield and seriously pulled something in his arm.
