NY Mets

I had a NY trip that coincided with a Mets game so decided to check out their new stadium: citifield.






It was free batting helmet day.
I arrived early to get a ticket, but it wasn't hard, the Mets aren't playing too well this season! This gave me time to check out the stadium, have a burger and beer, and try to catch BP homeruns.


The Mets lost 6-5 to one of the last placed teams, the Washington Nationals.
A lot of people were booing, as they were losing the whole time and made a bunch of errors.
Next year, I'll try to see the Yankees new stadium, harder to get tickets though, they are winning!

Repulse Bay

We loaded up on water toys and lunch and headed for an afternoon at Repulse Bay.

As soon as we got there we stripped Ella down and she dove into the sand!



I know it looks cold and overcast, but it was 32 degrees out!
We were lucky it wasn't bright and sunny so that burning wasn't such an issue.


Ella loved all her new water toys. She has a net to catch fish in, a floating pirate ship and squirting animals.

After some time tucked away, the Jolly Jumper has made a re-appearance.

OK this one is long and drawn out but it is a peek into the mind of a toddler.
Toys into the pool, toys out of the pool and into the toy box. Repeat.
Repeat.
Repeat.

Typhoon Koppu

A big typhoon blew thru last week. It wasn't a direct hit but we saw some wicked weather anyways.Here's a video shot from our bedroom. You can see the sheets of rain being blown around.

This video is of the lightning. There were over 6200 strikes in this one hour alone!

Well I didn't quite make it to 101 days of blog posts, but I had a decent run.

Ella watches 2 shows on TV, The Teletubbies and In The Night Garden.

This video is of her dancing to the music from the opening of In the Night Garden.
It came on while we were busy trying on new clothes so that is why she is in the 'hip hop gangsta' shorts. She will have to wait a month or two till they fit her better :)

Dinner at Earl's

Now that Ella is older and more mobile taking her into restaurants and expecting her to sit quietly while we enjoy ourselves is asking a bit much.

We don't often do it anymore and even less often for a dinner when she is usually her most cranky. However we did go out one night to the Earl's in Chiliwack.


Ella was quite good and as you can see really enjoyed playing the drums with some chopsticks

Ella's 'auntie' Owena is back looking after her 3 mornings a week. On her first day she gave Ella a birthday gift.
