Xmas in New York

Here are some random shots for our New York Xmas. Suds leaves soon and Ella have 2 days to ourselves before he returns.

This is all the post I have time for now, sorry!

The tree at Rockefeller Center

Ella and I waiting in line at American Girl for the store to open.

Here are the different looking dolls. We think this one might be the closest to Ella.

In the store the dolls can get their hair styled, ears pierced and can even spend the night in the dolly hospital!

These are the Bitty Babies. They get their own bouncer!

Last night was the first night of Hanukkah. These guys rented an RV and were traveling around singing and dancing. They were there waiting for us when we left the Red Lobster

Bowen Road

There are lots of great walking and hiking trails in Hong Kong.
Recently Suds and Ella and I tested out Bowen Road. It is approx 3.8 miles each way. The whole thing is a nice paved trail so it is perfect for strolling or running.

There are some great views of the city and of Happy Valley.

I think Suds was happiest just to show Ella the trees :)

Well the playground was fun, too!

Yesterday we took Ella to a local park to test her out on the baby swings. But by the time we got there she was asleep!

This photo has nothing to do with the walk, I just think it is cute!

Graffiti

I think a lot of you will recognize these statues. They are just down the street from us. Sadly they have been vandalized.

An attempt was made to clean the paint off but it was unsuccessful.

I am not sure if the hooligans just happened to have yellow paint or if it a racial thing.

Ella's latest news

OMG! Ella was so spoiled in Vancouver! Look at all her toys!

We have big news to report! Ella has successfully transferred to her crib for all naps and nighttime sleeping! This is her first official sleep in her crib.

She is up to 5.94Kg's and is 62cm long (13.1 lbs and 2 school rulers long)

Such a cute outfit and shoes to match :)

Here she is playing with one of her new rattles.

Our new computer

Our computer has been slowly dying for probably a year.
Recently it has really gone down hill, shutting off constantly.
It is very noisy and runs louder than the aircon!

For the past few weeks in an attempt to keep it cool and avoid turning off, Suds popped off the side panel and we have the fan blowing on the insides.

On Sunday we finally bit the bullet and bought a replacement.

Here is our brand new Mac laptop!
We have no idea how to use it, wish us luck!!!

Ella's first trip to Canada

Ella and I just returned from 3 weeks visiting in Vancouver.

We had fantastic weather with lots of sunshine and blue skies. It wasn't as cold as I feared, which was a pleasant surprise.

Fall is a gorgeous time of year. I miss the changing of the seasons.

Ella impressed everyone with how well behaved she was and charmed strangers with her smiles.

Thank goodness Ella is so chill! We had lots of staged photo ops and she was great in them all!

Nice mohawk!

A big highlight of the trip was being there while my Dad got married!

Poor Judy is officially a Friesen now :)

Ella's first Halloween was a big success.

This was an unplanned playdate so we didn't have our costume.

Ella as a lobster was too cute!

Ella got to meet all sorts of people for the first time.

Here's Ella meeting her Great Grandma.

Ella's first impression was certainly memorable to Steven....good thing I had an emergency outfit for her!

MADONNA

Shannon and I were lucky enough to have bought tickets to Madonna months ago.
This is the first time she has played in Vancouver; it was the chance of a lifetime!

Our seats were awesome and Madge didn't disappoint.
We left the show in love with her and addicted to her new album!

BC Place was sold out which translates into ridiculous washroom line-ups. Good thing Shannon and I have no qualms about using the mens!

I only had my phone to take pictures with and these are as good as I got.

I wish I could have gotten some pics of her incredibly muscled legs or old zombie hands.

It seemed half the girls there decided it was a good idea to dress like Madonna from the 80's. It was hilarious! I almost gave myself whiplash doing double takes at the get-ups!

Grandpa Ron and Grandma Linda come to visit

Ella meets her grandparents!

Lots of cuddles.

On the MTR heading to the Flower Market

Grandpa Ron in charge!

Me testing out another sling. This one is called a Hotsling. It is very light weight and simple.

Out for dinner at Cru. Linda stayed at home for a nap.

A new Canadian restaurant in Soho called Canucck.
We haven't eaten there yet, but here the lunch is a really good deal!

Out for brunch while Suds is at work.
