This place was SO different from Marrakesh! Totally worth the 3 hours on a bus (especially since this one did have air con!) It was s sleepy tourist beach town.
Doesn't it look like Greece?
It is well known for it seafood and there were lots of stalls where you could buy some right off the boat!
There was lots of shopping and it was more low key than Marrakesh. We bought some artwork and did lots of browsing.
The beach was long and even on a Saturday it was rather deserted. The sand was silky and fine but the wind was up and whipped it around. Good for the kite surfers but bad for the sun bathers!
Why not wear you burka to the beach??
Too soon it was time to fly back home to Hong Kong. We caught the 5am train to Casablanca and then went thru London. I love the London international terminal!! After checking in for our flight we actually went to see if we could catch the next one instead becasue we wanted to spend more time there!! We had lunch and a drink at O'Neils with Jeff Healy (OK well not WITH him, but he was in the pub too!) and snapped up all the cheap British gossip mags. I also love La Brioche Doree for toasties! There is some great shopping and a bunch of book stores, Starbucks, a huge cosmetic counter...If only they would get an H&M i would never leave!! I might just vacation TO Heathrow!!
